THE CONVERSATION THAT STAYED WITH ME
Why one coffee morning reminded me that sometimes the greatest healing starts with simply feeling understood.
After two wonderful weeks away, I hit the ground running this week.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were spent enjoying the last few days of sunshine in Spain before flying home on Wednesday evening. Thankfully, I missed the wildfires that sadly affected the area just a couple of days later, which certainly put things into perspective.
By Thursday morning, I was back doing what I love.
Seeing my wonderful menopause ladies.
Listening to their stories.
Helping women make sense of what they're experiencing.
It felt so good to be back.

THE HEALING POWER OF COMMUNITY
At the end of the week, I was invited to speak at a local menopause coffee morning. It was meant to last an hour. Three and a half hours later, we were still chatting. Some of the women had never met before, yet within minutes it felt as though they'd known each other for years.

There was laughter.
There were tears.
There were stories that perhaps had never been spoken aloud before.
Nobody was pretending to have it all together.
Nobody felt judged.
It was simply women supporting women.
As I drove home, I couldn't stop smiling because, once again, I was reminded of something I see time and time again:
Community is medicine.
Not instead of good healthcare. Not instead of evidence-based support. But alongside it. Because being heard matters. Feeling understood matters. And sometimes, hearing another woman say,
"Me too," can lift a weight you've been carrying for years.
IN THE MENOPAUSE WORLD: WHY CONNECTION MATTERS
Alongside research into hormones, nutrition and lifestyle, there's growing recognition that social connection plays an important role in women's wellbeing during midlife.
Alongside research into hormones, nutrition and lifestyle, there's growing recognition that social connection plays an important role in women's wellbeing during midlife.
Many women describe feeling isolated during perimenopause and menopause, particularly if friends, family or colleagues don't understand what they're experiencing.
That sense of isolation can make symptoms feel even harder to cope with. This is why menopause support groups, education events and community initiatives are becoming such an important part of menopause care. Knowledge is powerful.
But knowledge combined with connection can be transformational. When women realise they're not the only one waking at 3am, forgetting words, feeling anxious or wondering what's happened to the person they used to be, something shifts.
Shame begins to disappear.
Hope begins to grow.
TIP OF THE WEEK: FIND YOUR PEOPLE
Pain Point
So many women tell me:
"None of my friends are talking about menopause."
Or...
"I feel like I'm the only one struggling."
One Simple Shift
This week:
- reach out.
- arrange a coffee
- join a local group
- come along to a menopause event
- message the friend you've been meaning to contact
- or simply start the conversation yourself
You don't need to have all the answers.
You simply need to know that you don't have to do this alone.
Sometimes healing starts with a conversation rather than a solution.
WHY THIS MATTERS
This week's coffee morning reminded me that looking after ourselves isn't just about nutrition, exercise, sleep or understanding our hormones.
This week's coffee morning reminded me that looking after ourselves isn't just about nutrition, exercise, sleep or understanding our hormones.
Those things absolutely matter.
But so do friendship.
Laughter.
Belonging.
Feeling safe enough to be honest.
As women, we're often the ones supporting everyone else. Yet we also need spaces where we can be supported. Where we don't have to explain ourselves. Where we can simply be. Because sometimes the best medicine isn't found in a bottle or a prescription.
Sometimes it's found sitting around a table with people who truly understand.
WHERE TO START
If you're feeling overwhelmed, isolated or unsure where to begin, you don't have to figure it all out by yourself.
You can start with:
- Readiness & Symptom Snapshot
- Menopause Check-In (15 minutes)
- Menopause MOT
- The Menopause Vitality Reset
Every woman's journey is different, but no woman should have to navigate it alone.
FINAL THOUGHT
As I reflected on this week, one thing became crystal clear.
Community doesn't replace good healthcare.
It complements it.
When women feel heard, supported and understood, something powerful happens.
Confidence grows.
Hope returns.
And suddenly the journey doesn't feel quite so heavy.
Because perhaps the greatest gift we can offer one another is the simple reminder:
You're not alone.
With you
