THE POWER OF COMMUNITY, CONNECTION AND BEING UNDERSTOOD
Sometimes the most powerful thing a woman can hear is: “Me too.”
AN EVENING I WON’T FORGET
Last Thursday was one of those evenings that stays with you.
Our Menopause Education Evening was everything I hoped it would be and more.
The room was full of incredible women who gave up their evening to learn, ask questions, share experiences and, perhaps most importantly, realise they weren’t alone.
There was such a lovely energy in the room.
Women nodding in recognition.
Women laughing at things only other women in perimenopause and menopause truly understand.
Women discovering that symptoms they’d been worrying about were actually far more common than they realised.
As a practitioner, those moments are incredibly special. Because whilst I love sharing information, what I love even more is seeing women leave feeling reassured, empowered and hopeful. The feedback afterwards was overwhelming in the best possible way, several women spoke about finally feeling understood. Others shared how refreshing it was to hear practical, realistic advice rather than being told to completely overhaul their lives and many simply said they felt relieved, relieved to know there are answers, relieved to know there is support and to know they’re not imagining it.
For that, I am incredibly grateful.

IN THE MENOPAUSE WORLD: COMMUNITY IS BECOMING PART OF THE CONVERSATION
One of the themes appearing more and more frequently in menopause discussions is the importance of community, workplace support and shared understanding.
One of the themes appearing more and more frequently in menopause discussions is the importance of community, workplace support and shared understanding.
The latest edition of The Menopause Exchange highlights the growing number of organisations establishing menopause support groups and menopause-focused initiatives in the workplace. Increasingly, employers are recognising that women benefit enormously from having safe spaces where symptoms can be discussed openly and practical support can be shared.
MENOPAUSE: THE POWER OF SUPPORT AND SHARED UNDERSTANDING
Menopause is often spoken about as a hormonal transition, and while hormones undoubtedly play a huge role, support matters too.
Menopause is often spoken about as a hormonal transition, and while hormones undoubtedly play a huge role, support matters too.
Connection matters.
Being understood matters.
When women feel isolated, symptoms often feel heavier; when they feel supported, informed, and truly heard, everything becomes easier to navigate.
Sometimes, the most powerful thing in the room isn't the information itself, it's hearing another woman say, "I thought it was just me."
TIP OF THE WEEK: FIND YOUR MENOPAUSE TEAM
Pain Point
Feeling like you're carrying everything on your own.
Trying to work out symptoms, treatments, lifestyle changes and conflicting advice without support.
What's Happening?
Menopause can feel isolating, especially if the people around you don't understand what you're experiencing and when you're overwhelmed, even simple decisions can feel exhausting.
One Powerful Shift
Build your support team.
Your team might include:
- a trusted healthcare professional
- a supportive friend
- a partner who wants to understand
- a menopause community or group
- an exercise class you enjoy
- women who remind you that you're not alone
You don't need dozens of people.
You simply need a few people who help you feel seen, heard and supported.
Because support doesn't make you weak.
Support makes you stronger.
FINAL THOUGHT
One of the biggest lessons I took away from last week's event was this:
Women thrive when they're informed but they thrive even more when they're informed and supported.
Knowledge builds confidence, community builds resilience and when the two come together, women stop simply surviving menopause and start navigating it with far more understanding, hope and self-compassion and that's exactly the kind of community we're building at Healthy Habitz.
