UPDATES FROM JACKIE
WHEN WOMEN ARE DOING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS BUT STILL DON'T FEEL LIKE THEMSELVES

The Conversation I Kept Having All Week

Last week was one of those weeks where I found myself having the same conversation again and again. It was a busy one.
There were Menopause MOTsMenopause Check-Ins, coaching sessions inside The Menopause Vitality Reset, business meetings, team training and two menopause presentations.

Different women. Different stories. Different symptoms. Yet one theme kept appearing. Women are trying incredibly hard. They're eating better. Taking supplements. Trying to exercise. Reading books. Listening to podcasts. Doing all the things they think they should be doing. And yet many still feel exhausted. Their sleep isn't great. Their energy is low. Their mood feels different. Their body aches.

Their resilience isn't what it used to be. And after a while, many start wondering if they're doing something wrong.

IN THE MENOPAUSE WORLD: LOOKING BEYOND HORMONES
One of the biggest shifts happening in menopause support right now is the move towards personalised care. Experts are increasingly recognising that women need more than generic advice. Two women can have very similar symptoms but very different underlying contributors.

That's why conversations are expanding beyond hormones alone and looking at factors such as:
  • nutrition
  • sleep
  • stress
  • gut health
  • blood sugar balance
  • vitamin D status Inflammation
The future of menopause support isn't about finding one magic answer. It's about understanding your unique picture. And that's something I spoke about in both of my presentations last week. Because menopause isn't just about hormones. It's about what happens when hormones interact with sleep, stress, inflammation, nutrient status, blood sugar regulation and overall health. When we look at symptoms in isolation, we often miss the bigger picture.

WHY VITAMIN D MATTERS MORE THAN MOST WOMEN REALISE
One of the topics I'll be talking much more about over the coming months is Vitamin D.

Most people associate Vitamin D with bone health. And whilst it certainly plays an important role there, it does far more than that.

Vitamin D supports:

  • bone health
  • muscle function
  • immune function
  • mood and wellbeing
  • healthy ageing
  • balance and stability
The challenge is that symptoms associated with low Vitamin D levels can overlap with common menopause symptoms. Women may experience:

  • fatigue
  • muscle aches
  • low mood
  • reduced resilience
  • a general feeling of not feeling quite right
And because these symptoms are so common during perimenopause and menopause, it's easy to assume they're "just hormones." Sometimes they are. But sometimes there may be multiple factors contributing. And that's exactly why understanding your individual picture matters.

TIP OF THE WEEK: GET OUTSIDE EARLIER
The Pain Point
Low energy. Poor mood. Feeling sluggish. Struggling to get going in the morning.
One Simple Shift
Try getting outside for 10–15 minutes earlier in the day. Even on cloudy days, natural daylight helps support your body's internal clock. This can help:
  • regulate sleep patterns
  • support energy levels
  • improve mood
  • encourage healthier daily rhythms It's a tiny habit.
But tiny habits often create surprisingly powerful results when practised consistently.
WHY UNDERSTANDING MATTERS
One of the biggest lessons from last week was this:

Women are often working incredibly hard to feel better.
But sometimes they're missing important pieces of the puzzle.
Not because they're doing anything wrong.
But because symptoms rarely have a single cause.
The more information we have, the more personalised support can become.
And personalised support almost always works better than guesswork.

WHERE TO START
If you're feeling tired, overwhelmed or not quite yourself, support starts with understanding what's happening beneath the surface.

You can begin with:

FINAL THOUGHT
You are not broken. You are not failing. And you do not have to guess your way through menopause. The more we understand what's happening inside the body, the more empowered we become to support it properly. And sometimes, the things we overlook like Vitamin D, sleep, stress or inflammation turn out to be important pieces of the puzzle.
